Liza Espinoza

Chicago-based Hairdresser and Salon owner Liza Espinoza brings a fun, fearless style to any presentation or project she touches.

Her fashion-forward and uniquely imaginative approach and dedication to the art of hair sets her apart as a highly valued and innovative member of the Moroccanoil International Artistic Team and NYC Academy Staff.

Liza’s sense of excitement comes out when she talks about hairdressing. “I firmly believe that each person on the planet is unique and beautiful, and it is our great pleasure to bring that out!” Her focus on clients’ relationship with their hair after they leave the salon is a testament to her big-picture approach. “It’s not only about making people look great but feel amazing.

As an educator Liza is very passionate about sharing and motivating others to be their very best and doing everything possible to elevate this wonderful industry.  Her desire to help others challenge and express themselves through hairdressing  is a priceless attribute.

With experience in the worlds of print, runway, film and celebrity styling, Liza brings a unique point of view to any project from conception to execution. As a dedicated and dynamic artist, Liza has enjoyed many international accolades, including multiple North American Hairstyling Award (NAHA) nominations, most recently in 2021 and 2022. She was also awarded Best Avant Gard work in the International Beauty Industry Awards 2021, as well as a nomination for Best Editorial Hairstylist.

Liza’s ingenuity has earned her a vast editorial styling portfolio that includes work in industry and fashion magazines such as Modern Salon, American Salon, Vibra, Estetica, Vogue Italia, Dark Beauty, Canadian Hairdresser and many more.

She enjoys Editorial shoots, Fashion presentations and Hair Shows, but retains a deep love of Academy workshops. “I feel that working with hairdressers in small groups to fine-tune and develop their craft on a more personal level is the most rewarding thing I can do.”
