Artistry in Action: Lyle Reimer 12:00pm-1:30pm

Makeup and Mixed Media Artist, Lyle Reimer has elevated the title of makeup artist to a whole new level. Fusing fashion and art together and combining the passions that drive him, Lyle creates works of art that are extraordinary and blur the line between makeup art and fine art. Each of his unforgettable pieces are created strictly from found objects and recycled garbage giving fantasy and undeniable creativity in his self-portrait personas, which fuse facial sculpture, makeup, and imagination. In his first Main Stage presentation at The Makeup Show, you will watch a Master Artist in Action. Lyle will showcase the visual components of color, form, line, shape, texture and value to take you from fundamentals to the fantastical. Watch and experience how an artist can use color, texture and found materials to elevate an application. See how two-dimensional ideas are adapted to three-dimensional in an exciting application unlike anything you have seen on our stage before.

The Feature Stage is located on the 2nd floor.

Back to Basic: Kevin James Bennett – 10:45am-11:45am

Emmy Award Winner Kevin James Bennett doesn’t mind “being basic.” He knows that projects where you express yourself “artistically” don’t always pay the bills, and the ability to pump out technically sound, feature enhancing beauty makeup is our industry’s real moneymaker.

In this presentation, KJB brings us back to basic, carefully breaking down the contents of a properly stocked professional multimedia makeup kit. He explains how to evaluate which products (and tools) are “needs” and which are “wants.” The conversation continues with a discussion and demo of the rock-solid, core techniques he has developed over three decades as a successful makeup artist, working in all media formats (video, film, photo, red carpet, bridal, etc.).
This keynote is for smart beauty professionals who want information on how to maximize their efficiency and earning potential, so they have a steady income ($$$) which allows them to indulge their artistic side.
