Moving from a small Pennsylvania suburb to the big city, Mary Klimek came to Hollywood with her makeup brushes and a goal. Her career started almost immediately upon landing in Los Angeles.
Being new to town in a very demanding and competitive industry can prove to be a daunting obstacle when looking for a break. Fortunately, Klimek was given that shot by leading photographer Dan Winters. In two months, her portfolio grew with celebrities, which lead to press, print and advertising. After numerous hours on set, Klimek joined Local 706 and launched into a commercial career in television and film.
Print work with celebrities, working with the top commercial directors to most recently serving as Department Head of the highly anticipated film Jem and the Holograms out this year are just a few of her career highlights. Her work as Makeup Department Head can be found on HBO’s new hit show Togetherness, The New Normal/NBC, Enlisted/FOX, and Last Man on Earth/FOX, and films including Other People’s Children. Her clients include Justin Bartha, Helen Mirren, Amanda Peet, Sydney Tamiia Poitier and Will Forte.
