Training your eyes and hands to capture all that is seen, and unseen is essential to an artist’s success. The fundamentals of beauty, shape, balance, tension and emotions allow unlimited expression and design within your work. Observing and interpreting curves, lines and energy, help artists get out of their own mindsets and focus on the bigger picture in front of them rather than the small details.

Creating work that is well-balanced is the basis of beauty. Using correct proportions, sizing and shading strengthens your work on all levels.

3:00pm-5:30pm: WHAT’S MY LINE? – PUTTING IT TOGETHER – with Bethany Townes, Lijha Stewart, Mari Shten, James Vincent & Danessa Myricks
Eyebrows have the power to complete or completely change the look of a face. Eyebrows frame the eyes, face and provide an expression that can be used to emphasize, enhance and correct the imperfect. Mastering the makeup possibilities of eyebrows, empowers every artist.
Building the best brow for each eye is also essential. Our James Vincent will talk through eye shapes and brow basics while Danessa Myricks shares brow trend before bringing you through an exercise that will change the way you look at brows.
Understanding how to decide when, where and how to build lashes or attach faux lashes can seem daunting. Knowing what shape to create and how to create it can seem even more overwhelming. Mari Shten of Lash Lash NYC understands the why and how and will bring us through the decision-making process.
Putting together all the pieces in any makeup application requires you to understand the face in front of you, the job at hand and the products and tools you’re working with. Mastering and learning to manipulate all these individual components will allow you to compose and complete an incredible makeup look in any situation.

Day 2: CLAIRVOYANCE – Perceiving It
Perceiving is becoming aware of something by using your senses. Perception not only creates our experience of the world around us but it allows us to act, imagine and see what is possible by activating ourselves and our senses. Perception allows us to approach our art, world and career differently and with purpose.

Bring your thoughts, ideas and goals together to build from imagination into reality. This will require you to see what is possible and help you put a plan in place to get there. In this session, we will answer individual questions and share experiences to step forward from what might be, to what is.

Making an impact in Modern marketing, allows advancement on so many important levels. In this session, we will explore what is available and help you develop your own plan and presence in today’s social media world.

3:30pm-5:00pm: AN ARTISTS WAY- Marika D’Auteuil, Hosted by Danessa Myricks
Watch and witness as Marika, known as @lapetitvengeance shares her artistry and insight on becoming an artist with your own voice, on your own terms. With bold and artistic choices, a perfect complexion and a plethora of ideas, Marika is an artist who has developed an individual aesthetic and a body of work, that inspires us to each find our own vision and voice in art.
Day 3 – CLAIRSENTIENCE – I Imagine Infinite possibility
UNDERSTANDING INSPIRATION
Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities by allowing us to transcend our ordinary experiences and limitations. Inspiration propels a person from apathy to possibility. It transforms the way we perceive our own capabilities. Inspiration may sometimes be overlooked because of its elusive nature. Today we will look at different types of inspirations and how to access and include them in our art, brand and life.

The term inspiration is commonly used. Inspiration is a creative push from something that resonates deeply. Knowledge-based and need-based inspirations are essential to makeup success as we establish our expertise. In this panel, we will explore the tangibles and techniques of finding inspiration in what exists and how to use it to become better equipped as an artist and businessperson.

Explore tools for inspiration that allow you to perceive, practice, and put together ideas for easier communication, client pitch and personal collection.
