Who Can Attend The Makeup Show?
The Makeup Show is a PRO-focused beauty experience open only to those in the beauty and fashion industry. Makeup artists, hairstylists, estheticians, cosmetologists, aspiring artists, nail technicians, barbers, agents, models, fashion stylists, photographers, industry insiders and anyone that works or studies under the umbrella of beauty and fashion are permitted to attend. What are some of the major aspects of the industry the show will be covering?
The Makeup Show helps both new and seasoned artists. Those in school or just starting out can learn from basic seminars and networking as well as hands-on workshops, while those who have been in the industry and are seasoned can still expand their skill set by taking hands-on workshops and seminars. The Makeup Show is also a place to network and build your industry connections.
Are the educational sessions free to attend?
With the purchase of your show ticket, you will gain access to the exhibitor show floor and over 40 free sessions including Demo Stage, Seminar Stage, as well as the Main Stage Presentations. The only additional fees are for our Hands-On Workshops and Momentum in Sessions.
Are Children allowed to attend The Makeup Show?
All children under the age of 8 are complimentary. Children above the age of 8 will need to purchase a ticket and be accompanied by a guardian.
What do I need to bring to the IN the Studio classes?
IN the Studio attendees will need to provide their own makeup brush set; all makeup and supplies will be provided in the class.
Do I need a model for the IN the Studio classes?
No, the IN the Studio attendees will work on each other.
I can’t go to the show, can I give my ticket to a friend or get a refund?
All tickets are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE. The name that the ticket was booked on must be the person who comes with the confirmation and picks up the ticket.
How do I add a class?
At the time of registering for your ticket, you will find all classes on the third page of your registration. If you wish to add classes after you have completed your registration, please email Sophia@themakeupshow.com
How is this show different from the other beauty events?
The Makeup Show is open to those in the beauty industry and those interested in joining it. The show offers community, inspiration and education LIKE no other event. Network, meet artists, brand reps and owners in an intimate setting. Gain access to pro and prestige brands and education that is exclusive to The Makeup Show.
Are students allowed to attend the show?
Yes, any student currently enrolled in a beauty, hair & fashion school is allowed to attend. Students receive 10% discount on tickets and MUST show student ID or enrollment papers at the door.
Are products sold directly at the show?
All exhibitors are given the option to sell products on the floor, 90% do and give a pro-discount (10-60%). Most exhibitors take both cash and credit card. We recommend you come prepared with both forms of payment as well as bring your pro credentials as some ask again to see them to receive further discounts.
Are the educational sessions free to attend?
Main Stage, Seminar Stage and Demo Stage presentations are complimentary educational events that we offer in each city at a first come, first serve basis. IN the Studio classes and Momentum Sessions are an additional fee.
Where do I find information about education?

How do I add a guest?
You can add a guest on the Personal Information page by clicking on the Guest Information tab while registering. If you wish to add the guest after you have completed your registration, please email Sophia@themakeupshow.com
How will the show benefit me/my company?
As a salon, spa or boutique owner you will be able to learn about the newest brands, products and techniques in the industry. As a professional freelancing or working for a beauty brand or retailer you will be able to educate yourself about the newest products, techniques and brands, as well as networking with company executives and high level artists in order to further your career. Pro-discounts ranging from 20-50% is typically in effect from participating companies as well as companies allow registration to pro-industry benefits.
Can I bring a guest?
We allow you to purchase up to five guest tickets while registering for the show. At the moment, the show allows each registrant to purchase only one non industry guest ticket. This is important for artists that want to share their experience with an assistant or a significant other, family member or child, or simply don’t want to attend alone.
Do I need to show credentials at the door?
Yes you will need to show credentials to door staff at The Makeup Show. Credentials can include a business card, comp card, call sheet, tear sheet, student ID, school enrollment papers, professional license, work ID or pay stub from a beauty related business.
Not every state requires a license to work in the field, and therefore many freelancers don’t have a license. This is why we accept credentials such as business cards. If you are an aspiring artist hoping to join the industry we will access this case by case so please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
What’s the difference between Demo Stages, Seminars, IN the Studio & Momentum Session?
Seminars are seated events on the floor of the show where you can learn all the new trends for the seasons.
Our Demo Stage Area is where you can observe artists in action as they show live demonstrations of how to use product and techniques.
IN the Studio classes are traditionally 3-4 hour sessions where you have the opportunity to practice, receive feedback and learn in an intimate setting. These classes are for an additional fee.
Momentum Session is a series of lectures with Master Artists and Industry Experts designed to engage you on a personal level. These classes are for an additional fee.
