Calling All Makeup Artists: Join The Makeup Show LA Face chART Contest Now!
The Makeup Show LA celebrates its fifth year anniversary with our face chART, our fine art face chart contest. In this contest makeup artists from all over the world will be using makeup to construct craft and recreate iconic fine art images onto a The Makeup Show Face Chart.
TASK: Recreate a famous and recognizable piece of fine art on one of our face charts using your kit and your imagination. Let us see the infinite possibilities for capturing depth and dimension and the drama of fine art from any period and any medium. Reimagine and recreate celebrated famous and infamous fine artists and the people, movement, light and life they capture in a simple face chart and share your art and vision with our community.
RULES FOR SUBMISSION: To enter- download The Makeup Show Official Fact Chart by clicking HERE (eyes open) and HERE (winking). You can choose one of the two face charts ( either both eyes open or one eye open depending on your design). Then, submit your completed face chart to merlo@themakeupshow.com by 2/15/13. The JPEG may not be larger than 2 MB. We will have our team of editors, photographers and producers select their favorite from the entries.
FINALISTS & WINNERS: Finalists will be contacted via email by 2/18/13. All Face chart finalists will be displayed at The Makeup Show LA Show 2013 and have an opportunity to be featured on Beautylish.com. They will be judged by a panel of our top industry insiders and viewed by over 4000 industry artists and experts. The winner will be announced at The Makeup Show LA on 3/3/13 and featured on our blog following The Makeup Show LA.
1st Place -PRIZES TO BE AWARDED INCLUDE:
- Makeup Kit containing some of James Vincent’s favorite products. ($1000 value!)
- Announcement and feature in The Makeup Show newsletter and featured spot on The Makeup Show Blog.
- Part of Editorial Story on Beautylish including image and credit

Do you have to attend the makeup show LA to submit entry. I plan on attending the June show in Chicago, but can I still enter for this contest?

“Recreate a famous and recognizable piece of fine art ” can we come up with a look or it has to be someones look that we recreat in our own way ?
hi Naureen, you must recreate a already existing piece of art: such as the mona lisa or picasso or basquit or ANY sculpture/painting/drawing of the masters
Is it possible to do the pieces in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop?
your work must be done with makeup and then uploaded as a jpeg or PDF. good luck! can’t wait

Hi laurie, Yes you can use an iconic photograph. When you submit, send a jpeg of your inspiration as well this way we have context for viewing your work.

so i know it’s late but what is the cut off time for submission tomorrow? im working on my entry but want to make sure i get it in on time.
