James Face Chart-Colour Couture Beyond Beauty

A face chart celebration of fashion and beauty inspired by the looks of the legendary Met Balls of the past that push further than pretty makeup and make its way towards bold, bright and brilliant color usage. New York’s Legendary Costume Institute Gala, known more commonly as the glamorous Met Ball has been the toast of the town since 1971 with celebrities and fashion insiders featuring the most talked about makeup looks and becoming legendary. From Orientalism, to Cubism or Controversial Punk Chaos, The Met Ball theme inspires the world of fashion like no other event.

Your Goal: Create a face chart that represents your artistic eye and choose from the wonderful world of Met Gala themes from the past. Put your creativity and research skills to use or imagine what you would design for one of today’s famous faces that attend this fabulous fashion event. Rules for Submission:
To enter submit your single face chart image to by April 28, 2014.

We will have our team of editors, photographers and producers select their favorite from the entries.
Finalists will be contacted via email by April 29, 2014.

All face charts from the finalists will be displayed at the Opening Event of Friday, May 2nd  and throughout The Makeup Show NYC 2014. They will be judged by a panel of our top industry insiders and viewed by over 7000 industry artists and experts. The winner will be announced and featured on our blog following The Makeup Show
NYC on May 5th, 2014.

The winner will receive a gift of some of James Vincent’s favorite products.

The Kevyn Aucion Beauty & Soul gallery will be open during The Makeup Show NYC:experience of having a gallery to truly inspect the life and work of a legend was so monumental that we had to bring it to the artists at The Makeup Show NYC as well. We will again be partnering with Kevyn Aucoin Beauty to bring you Beauty and Soul, a show that commemorates and celebrates Kevyn, providing a look at pieces of his professional and personal life that showcase his achievements in the beauty industry, share moments from his life and bring us behind-the-scenes of some of his most important and inspiring work.

Sunday 9am-6pm and Monday 9am-5pm.
The gallery is open to all attendees of The Makeup Show.
